- Day 1 Trends and New Business Opportunities.
How can companies in the wool sector meet an increased demand for sustainable and locally produced products? Speakers include Linda Nydén from Smart Textiles at the University of Borås (SE) and representatives from the outdoor brand Fjällräven. This day also includes speakers from Uist Wool, Scotland and TW Textil, Åland.
- Day 2 Production, Innovation and Research.
What are the challenges and opportunities when working with local wool? Speakers include Ave Matsin from the University of Tartu (EST) and Sue Blacker, The Natural Fibre Company/Blacker Yarns (UK). We will also get a lecture about creating a new breed of sheep to meet the demands from both consumers and a local industry.
- Day 3 Full day bus excursion around Gotland.
Visit to a sheep farm, a scouring mill, a spinning mill and a knitting mill working with wool on Gotland.
How to register
Our conference secretariat, Resia Kongress, handles the registration and can also assist with hotel reservation and travel arrangements. The conference venue is Clarion Hotel Wisby, in the middle of the medieval town of Visby. If you would like to stay there (optional), you can make your reservation at the same time as you register for the conference.
