Luxury business: a vision for the footwear industry will be the starting point of the conference that APICCAPS organises, within the scope of the Bioshoes4all project. It’s held at the Museu Nacional Soares dos Reis, in Porto, on June 5th.
In this event, the “Case Study on the Luxury Footwear Sector”, authored by the international consultancy Ernest&Young, will be presented. The Study Center of the Catholic University of Porto will also detail “New and Old Markets: a new approach”.
The Portuguese footwear industry has an important place in the Portuguese economy, particularly in exports. In fact, Portuguese footwear exports amount to 1,900 million euros, which corresponds to around 90% of global production. To be competitive on the international competitive scene, the footwear sector must continue to envisage new markets and expand its area of intervention to other segments with greater added value.
A debate will also be promoted through the vision of four different companies. Ana Maria Vasconcelos, from Belcinto, Fátima Oliveira, from Mariano Shoes, João Esteves, from DiVERGE and Paulo Martins, from Ambitious will uncover the businesses of the future.
