A business mission journey to Seoul next week will promote the presence of Catalan fashion brands in Asia. A market the Catalonian brands today do limited businesses with.
The Fashion Trend Tour Seoul is organised for Catalan fashion and design companies. The idea is to find innovative ideas, applicable to Catalan products and services. It’s also an opportunity to enter the South Korean market. South Korea has approximately 52 million potential consumers, which use about 25 billion dollars’ worth annually, of fashion products with a certain quality and design. The project aims at establishing commercial contacts in Seoul, allowing Catalan brands to access this important market.
This trip will involve managers of SMEs from Catalan fashion brands, business development managers and design managers from companies in the sector. Among those Sita Murt, Boboli, Yerse, ESDI (Escola Superior de Disseny), Munich, Mango, and Simorra.
The two aims
- to acquire new knowledge, inspiring innovative concepts for products and services from Catalan fashion brands
- to promote Catalan Fashion and generate new commercial opportunities in South Korea.
In recent years, Seoul has become a reference destination for new brand concepts, spaces and products in the fashion and cosmetics sector. The city allows you to see different approaches of brands and retailers that have achieved a perfect coexistence between online and offline fashion, and that is why it has been selected as an inspiring proposal by the Catalan Cluster.
According to the report Perspectives of Catalan Fashion 2023, only 15% of the country’s fashion brands have sold their products in Asia during 2022. Only 7.2% of the total Catalonian exports end up in Asia.
