Last week, the Textile Museum and other representatives from the City of Borås visited a textile conference “Tekstilijada” in Stip, North Macedonia. During the conference, the focus was on working conditions, but also questions about the future of the textile industry and opportunities for international cooperation.
During the days in Stip, the participates took part in panel debates, fashion shows, study visits to factories and much more. Among the speakers were ministers and researchers. At Tekstilijada, the president of North Macedonia, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, also participated, in the picture with the Textilmuseet’s Johannes Daun and Jonas Widerström from the City of Borås.
Like Borås, Stip is a member of ACTE, an organization where more than 30 cities work to develop the textile industry in Europe. The conference is organized by the trade union organization Glasen Tekstilec with the support of the Olof Palme International Center.
