THE CREATEX PROJECT FINAL CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION

Wednesday, December 11 at The Strzemiński Academy of Art Łódź will kick off the Final Conference of “Createx – Textile Heritage Inspiring Creatives” European Project, a two-day open event that will consist of speeches, lectures and presentations illustrating both the contents, the activities and the achieved results of the Project started in September 2018 as well as an in-depth framing of the Textile traditions of Łódź.

The first day the conference will focus on the project’s approach on raising awareness and strengthening archive conservation skills, also offering an overview of the Creative Residency Cycle as an innovative design experience with the participations of some of the involved designers crew illustrating the heritage inspiration/creation path.

The following day will tell about the artistic, textile and Polish Folk costume tradition with lectures and attendances from significative cultural institutions of Lodz, Lowicz and Opoczno.

The Createx event will thus be an opportunity to discover the fascinating results of the Creative Residency Cycle journey thanks to the dedicated Exhibition focused on the 14 mini heritage inspired collections created by the young designers involved, which will be open to the public from December 9th until January 2020 at the Strzemiński Academy.

During the days of the conference the creative protagonists of the exhibition will also be present to illustrate to the public, the details of their creations on display, the inspiration that has guided their work from the very beginning and to tell the residency experience lived through study visits at textile companies archives, meetings with professional designers and visits to fashion and textile design museums.
