Transitions into future skills
October 10, 2023

To inspire and to find new ways to train young people in the textile sector, in sustainability and digitalisation. That’s the aim of nine European institutions, working together in the project TRANSITIONS. A project where several partners of ACTE are involved.

The European textile and fashion industry is currently facing major structural and systemic challenges. This requires a profound change in business models. And in how we skill, re-skill, and up-skill the people involved. The new European regulatory framework foresees a more efficient management of textile waste. A change in operations that also force the development of circularity in the textile and fashion industry in Europe. As well as the acceleration of the digitalisation of all the processes of the sector.

There is also a brand-new report from a survey Transitions did between December 2022 and March 2023. You can download “Mapping the market, exploring needs and the demands of skill” here.

The project is co-funded by the EU, through the Erasmus+.
