How we look at products that are considered no longer “useful” is all-important when it comes to sustainability.
The repurposing of things is at the very core of what Sweden’s first doctor in Redesign, Anna Lidström, do and think.
There are still so many possibilities with things that are already produced…
Here you can hear the reasoning behind designer Anna Lidström’s work with Redesign, from a personal viewpoint. Video recorded for ACTE, by Anna herself.
Why redesign?
To Anna, redesign is not a new thing (no pun intended). She has always been interested in the aesthetic qualities and the fun expressions of used materials and fabrics.
Anna tells us more about her perspective.
– To me, it’s about fashion, not waste management. I feel I can share how to work with redesign out of my design perspective. I’ve always been a practitioner and I wanted to make sure that redesign remains in the realm of creativity. My thesis is just basic research, and most definitely from a design world perspective.
This field in fashion is… a field of prosperity
